Historic cottages and beachfront traditional homes on larger than standard town feature in this neighborhood. Some streets in this exclusive neighborhood run directly to the ocean front, this neighborhood is eminently bucolic; many streets run without sidewalks, and some are unpaved.
Private parks and protected lots are scattered through this neighborhood. We love this neighborhood for its mixed air of mountain and beach. We also love the proximity to the ocean and Ocean Drive on up to North Shores.
Beach access is via Deauville Beach at North Shores; or Whisky Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park Beach at the northern tip of North Shores.
The neighborhood stretches from the ocean front through first, second, third, and fourth plus blocks. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean to the east; Lake Gerar and NORA to the south; Grove Park to the west; and Henlopen Acres to the north. Beaches are a 0-30 minute walk. The restaurants of the town center of Rehoboth Beach a 20-30 minute walk.
Housing styles range from elegantly appointed large single family waterfront and beachside properties, some condominiums and town houses, to modest historic single family homes, and newer luxury ‘mansions.’ Lake and ocean views.
Even though this is a shaded neighborhood with some longer walks to the beach and town center, this neighborhood is very popular – bustling with vacationers during the summer months; calmer and secluded during the fall and winter.
